Accreditation
We subscribe to international operating standards, and use only the latest technology and research, in order to excel in the field of blood science.
We are fully accredited as a Blood Service for collection, processing, testing and distribution of blood and blood products by the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS), as well as by Safe Working Practice (SWP), an independent accreditation organisation that certifies our compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
South African National Accreditation Systems (SANAS):
SANAS is based on a combination of the ISO9000 and ISO17025 systems, and is recognised internationally. These systems ensure a systematic operating methodology and increased quality in service standards. Ultimately, this benefits both donors and recipients.
All divisions of our organisation – blood banks, clinics, testing laboratories, processing and administration – are tested annually and have been found to comply with all SANAS requirements since September 2002.
Safe Working Practice (SWP)
Safe Working Practice (SWP) is an occupational health and safety consultancy that offers a range of services in the workplace. They conduct an annual safety audit with WCBS to ensure strict compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
SWP has been in operation since 2004, and is an established and progressive consultancy with offices nationally. Their vision is to provide a cost effective and professional occupational health advisory service with a strong emphasis on quality, customer satisfaction and the provision of effective safety management systems. SWP enjoys an excellent reputation in the occupational health and safety industry through consistent service excellence.
WCBS was first audited by SWP in 2016 and was previously assessed by Technilaw and NOSA.
